Jessica is a 2003 graduate of Altoona Area High School and a 2008 graduate of Penn State Altoona. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, she worked for both the Altoona Area School District and the Tyrone Area School District. Jessica’s most recent experience is with Child Advocates of Blair County where she worked for 8 years as a preschool teacher and home visitor before becoming the Director of The Garden Preschool Academy. She enjoys spending time with her husband, of over 10 years, and her two young children. She also enjoys watching movies and sharing her love of reading and crafting with her students.
Wendy received her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Aloysius in 2012. She has been teaching preschool for over 30 years and even had her own in-home daycare for some time. Wendy enjoys volunteering at her church by teaching Sunday School, Junior Church, Vacation Bible School and also volunteers at their after-school program on Wednesday evenings. She loves spending time with her husband and family. Together they have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Wendy also enjoys playing with her cat, gardening, reading, cooking and baking in her spare time.
Alexis is a 2015 graduate of Altoona Area High School where she received her Child Development Associates Credential. While attending high school, she worked in the preschool and infant/toddler room for three years. She is currently attending YTI Altoona studying Medical Assistant. Alexis hopes to pursue her career in the UPMC Emergency Department. She studied dance for 13 years and for over 5 years has shared her passion by teaching young students. Alexis served as a volunteer firefighter for several months and has completed 16 hours of book and hands-on training. She has become CPR, First Aid and AED trained and certified for infants, toddlers and adults.
Seth is a 2010 graduate of Altoona Area High School and the GACTC where he studied Emergency Services. He is a 2013 graduate of South Hills School of Business and Technology majoring in Criminal Justice. Seth has studied Martial Arts for 19 years and is a certified black belt by the Jin Pal Hapkido Federation, this is where his love of teaching students began. Seth has been a Martial Arts instructor for 7+ years. When not training or teaching, he enjoys reading and gaming.
